What Data May Be Collected About Me?

The main source of the data is the user, and in addition, we may receive additional information from our partners, for example from credit service providers. Regarding personal data received from third parties, we will, in accordance with the requirements of the Privacy Regulation, inform the customer at the first contact or within one month of receiving the personal data.

Noutajakauppa stores customer data in Finland. The security of our data centers, the technical and procedural data protection of our systems, are maintained at a very high level. Our servers are protected against intrusions and denial-of-service attacks.

In our data processing and technical solutions, we apply good data protection practices such as data consolidation, minimization, pseudonymization, anonymization, and encryption. In processing personal data, we comply with the applicable requirements of the EU Privacy Regulation effective from 25.5.2018.

Access to personal data is monitored in accordance with good practices.

Who Processes My Personal Data?

Access to customer data is granted only to Noutajakauppa’s employees, and our staff is trained to use the data safely and ethically. Each employee sees customer data only to the extent necessary for the performance of their work tasks.

We use trusted contractual partners, which may result in data being transferred to a third party. In all agreements with our partners, the requirements set by the EU Privacy Regulation and other relevant legislation are taken into account. How Long Are My Data Retained?

We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this notice. In addition, some data may be retained longer as required by legal obligations such as those related to accounting and consumer sales responsibilities, and to document the proper fulfillment of these obligations.

At the customer’s request, their personal data may be deleted or anonymized from Noutajakauppa’s systems. The deletion or anonymization measure is irreversible, and we cannot restore deleted customer accounts.

For some data, legislation requires longer retention, for example for:

  • The Accounting Act mandates longer retention periods irrespective of whether the data contains personal information
  • Fulfilling responsibilities related to consumer sales
  • Collecting and storing system log data in the manner required by law to provide a lawful and secure online store for our customers
  • Taking adequate backups of the online store’s databases and systems to secure data, rectify errors, and ensure data security and continuity

What Rights Do I Have?

As a customer, you have the right to:

  • Access your personal data, including the right to receive a copy of your personal data
  • Request correction or deletion of your personal data
  • Under certain conditions, request restriction of processing or to object to the processing of your personal data
  • Additionally, if processing is based on separate consent, you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time. Please note that this does not affect the lawfulness of the processing carried out prior to the withdrawal.

You may exercise your rights by contacting our customer service. Your request must be sufficiently specified so that we can verify your identity. We will inform you if we are, in some cases, unable to fully comply with your request (for example, to delete certain data for which we have a legal obligation to retain, such as credit-related information) or if we have a legal right.
If you notice that the processing is inadequate or unlawful, you have the right to file a complaint with the data protection authority.

How Can I Influence the Use of My Data?

At any time, the customer can terminate their account and request Noutajakauppa to delete their own data by contacting our customer service.

Note! In some cases, not all data can be deleted, and legislation may require that some information related to the customer is retained.

Will My Personal Data Be Disclosed to Third Parties?

We may disclose certain essential data to third parties to ensure delivery and for marketing purposes. Your data may also be transmitted to a credit-granting party in connection with a credit decision.

We use customer data with third parties for analytics and personalization purposes. We utilize purchasing behavior and browsing data together with our partners to better offer you products and deals of interest. Data used for analytics and personalization is anonymized or pseudonymized whenever possible. Only we can combine the pseudonymized data with your name.

If necessary, we also disclose data to authorities. We will inform you about data requests whenever permitted by law.

We transmit information to the following third parties:

  • Product recommendation and personalization partners
  • Email marketing partners, if the customer has consented to receive newsletters
  • The carrier, if the selected delivery method is shipping to a pickup point, the nearest post office, or directly to the customer

  • The credit-granting entity, if the customer selects a credit invoice or installment plan as the payment method
  • The product supplier when ordering streaming products
  • A collection agency, in cases of overdue invoices that are forwarded to collection

Noutajakauppa ensures that data is transferred and processed in accordance with high levels of data security as per the EU Privacy Regulation. To verify the level of data processing by third parties, measures such as the model contract clauses approved by the European Commission, binding corporate rules (BCR arrangements), the EU-US Privacy Shield (or another approved method according to the Privacy Regulation) are used.
Are Cookies Used on the Online Store and What Are They?

Noutajakauppa uses cookies (“cookies”) and other similar technologies such as local storage. Cookies are small text files exchanged between the device’s browser and the server. Cookies and other identifiers have a defined lifetime, after which the browser deletes the identifier. We use these technologies to implement functions, for personalization, as well as for analytics and targeted marketing.

Functional cookies and local storage are used, for example, for customer identification, maintaining login sessions, estimating delivery times, and shopping cart functions. The use and acceptance of cookies and local storage for these functions is mandatory. The functional cookies and local storage variables set by the server remain in the browser for 15 minutes to 24 months, unless removed separately through the browser settings. A visit to the website reestablishes the cookies and local storage variables, provided the browser permits it.

Through personalized user experience, we can offer more product recommendations on our site that might interest you. For this purpose, a cookie from RichRelevance is set on the customer’s browser. These cookies remain in the browser for 30 minutes to 24 months. The data sent to RichRelevance, such as visits on product pages and search history, is anonymized, and our partner cannot determine the customer’s identity.

Our analytics and marketing partners and techniques, such as pixel tags and cookies, help us better understand our customers’ behavior and tell us which products, functions, and services interest them. Data used for these purposes is anonymized whenever possible. Otherwise, we treat the data as personal data to the extent the identifier contains targeting information such as an IP address. Also, identifiers that can be connected to the customer in any way are treated as personal data. The lifetime of the identifiers is 30 seconds to 24 months.

We use Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Google AdWords, Google Display Network, and Google DoubleClick to analyze website usage, popular products, trends, and sales, and with your consent also for targeted marketing. You may opt out of the identifiers used for targeted marketing by enabling your browser’s Do Not Track feature and setting your browser to reject third-party cookies.

Can This Privacy Notice Be Changed?

Due to the development of our services and changes in legislation, we reserve the right to change this privacy notice. Significant changes to the privacy notice will be announced to registered customers when the terms are updated.

This privacy notice replaces the previous register notice.
